A group of old friends from high school met late one evening following a class reunion at the park. As they talked about the school days, they began to discuss a particular teacher that made an impact on each of them. They decided to stop in on the long retired man the next morning.
The elderly man was happy to see what had become of these student and he welcomed them into his home. The conversation turned to complaints about stress in both work and life. While the conversation continued, the elderly man rose from his chair and brought in a tray with a pot of coffee and an assortment of cups. One was made of porcelain, one of glass, one of crystal. The rest were plastic. Each student reached for a cup and the kind hearted man began to pour coffee and wisdom.
“If you noticed, each of you chose an expensive, nice looking cup while leaving behind the cheap plastic cups. Don’t be ashamed, it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves; but friends, this is the source of your problems and stress. You must remember that the cup you choose lends no quality to the coffee you are drinking. In most cases, it is just more expensive and sometimes even hides what you choose to drink. What you really wanted was the coffee, not the cup — but you made a conscious choice and reached for the finest cups, and while you may not admit to it, I watched each of you as you eyed the other’s cups.”
“As you continue with your life, consider this: Life is the coffee. The jobs, the money, and the position in society are nothing more than the cup you chose. It is a tool to hold and contain the life you hold dearly. The type of cup does not define or change the quality of the life you live. When you concentrate on the cup, you fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided for you. Remember, you get to choose the cup you drink from but God brews the coffee you enjoy.”

This was poorly written but the message was sweet
I thought the message was great and it was wonderful coffee and I thought the cup was beatiful.
